In the beginning ...
I bought my Yamaha XS-750-2D triple off the showroom floor in 1977 at Blalock Cycles in Wheaton, MD.
It has under gone many changes in the years since I brought it home.
These pages will document most of the changes I made over the years and will show the development of my XS-FLT.
The Harley fans will know that the FLT is the old Tour Glide Standard.
This is a little brother of the Road King.
The FLT features a frame mounted fairing and windshield with hard bags.
Options included the trunk or rack above the rear wheel.
I have always liked this configuration and with the NOS parts I have assembled I can do it to my triple.
This configuration was possible using original Yamaha parts, but I have never seen one.
The number in parenthesis is the years that a particular system was mounted.
Thanks to the Internet auction sites I have been able to obtain some New Old Stock (NOS) original parts.
Brand new triple with the stock 3-2 exhaust (77-79)
Fairing and sissy bar/luggage rack mounted
Rebuilt and repainted with the old Jardine 3-1 (1979-1995) installed in 1979
A MAC 3-1 (1996-1999) finally replaced my ancient Jardine
After the fairing broke I continued to use the MAC 3-1
The neatest system I've ever seen on a triple, the Hooker 3-1-3 (1999-2002)
NOS Jardine 3-1 (2002-2004)
Jardine 3-1 with NOS tank, seat, side covers, and mirrors
